This lesson covers the basics.There will be an introduction, the students will introduce themselves.We shall cover spell- Ferula,learn about mistletoe berries and learn to brew the Antidote To Common Poisons

Ferula

Ferula is a healing spell used to bind and splint broken limbs.

Mistletoe Berries

Mistletoe is the common name for obligate hemi-parasitic plants in several families in the order Santalales. These plants grow attached to and penetrating within the branches of a tree or shrub by a structure called the haustorium, through which they absorb nutrients from the host plant.

Mistletoe Berries are an ingredient used in potion-making.

Mistletoe Berries are used to brew the following potions:
  • Antidote to Common Poisons
  • Forgetfulness Potion  
Antidote To Common Poisons

The Antidote to Common Poisons (or Antidote for Common Poisons) is a potion which counteracts ordinary poisons, such as creature bites and stings.Its ingredients include Bezoars, Standard Ingredient, ground unicorn horn and mistletoe berries. The recipe for this potion can be found in Magical Drafts and Potions.


Ingredients

  • Bezoar
  • Mistletoe Berries
  • Unicorn Horn            

Making the potion

Step one

  • Add 1 Bezoar to your mortar.
  • Crush it into a very fine powder using your pestle.
  • Add 4 measures of the crushed Bezoar to your cauldron.
  • Add 2 measures of Standard Ingredient to your cauldron.
  • Heat to a medium temperature for 5 seconds.
  • Wave your wand.
  • Leave to brew and return in 30 minutes.

Step two

  • Add 1 Unicorn Horn to your cauldron.
  • Stir 2 times, clockwise.
  • Add 2 Mistletoe Berries to your cauldron.
  • Stir 2 times, anti-clockwise.
  • Wave your wand to complete the potion.
